Lindsay is originally from Minnesota and moved to Arizona in 1999. She graduated from ASU with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and later a Master’s degree in Special Education with a reading endorsement from Northern Arizona University. Lindsay’s experience has been in grades four and six in the Gilbert School District and teaching struggling readers has always been her passion. Due to this family history, she knows first hand how essential it is for people with learning differences to get the proper, researched based instruction. That is why she took it upon herself to get trained in Orton-Gillingham based methods such as Wilson Language, Fundations, and certified at the masters level in the Barton Reading and Spelling System. She has also been trained in Handwriting w/o Tears, Visualizing/Verbalizing, LiPS, and Making Math Real. Miss Lindsay is so proud of what Reading Pro has become and how many lives have been positively been affected by the services at Reading Pro.

Betsy Cluff, BA Ed.
Betsy grew up in the small town of Thatcher, Arizona. She couldn’t decide between becoming an Artist or a Scientist; therefore, she chose to become a teacher so she could do both. In 1997, she graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Language Arts and Visual Arts.
She taught Art at Thatcher middle school for 2 years before moving to the valley to teach for the Gilbert school district in 2001. During the following nine years with Gilbert schools, she helped to open Ashland Ranch Elementary and South Valley Junior high. She taught Eighth grade Language Arts for eight of those years as well as Yearbook, Newspaper, Art, and AVID. During her last two years with the Gilbert District, she was privileged to teach art to students with Autism and Down syndrome.
In 2009, she and her husband of eighteen years had the surprise of their lives when they found out they were going to have a new baby. With a ten-year-old son, and a fifteen-year-old daughter at home, Betsy decided she would step out of teaching full-time for a season to focus on being a mom.
Unable to stay away from teaching too long, Betsy became a certified group fitness instructor and later received training in the Barton Reading and Spelling System and Handwriting w/o Tears. She is continually amazed by the power of the brain and enjoys reading brain-based research that marries Science with Art.
One of her most-admired artists is Leonardo Da Vinci. He was an amazing artist, scientist, inventor, designer, and futuristic thinker; He was also thought to have dyslexia and ADD, yet was brilliant. Betsy enjoys the privilege of working with students with dyslexia, helping them to understand their own brilliance, and teaching them decoding skills that will make a huge difference in their lives.

Rachel LaGravinese, BA Ed.
Rachel LaGravinese graduated with honors from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in K-8 Education. Rachel also pursued an endorsement in reading and language arts, as it has always been her passion. Upon graduation, she was selected as a Rodel Promising Student Teacher and placed with an exemplary mentor teacher who is renowned for her students’ achievement in a high-need school. After student-teaching alongside this mentor teacher, Rachel was hired on in the high-need school as a 6th grade teacher. She has since also taught fifth grade, and loved it just as well! She says that working with low-income and English as a Second Language students confirmed her passion to inspire and mentor students to believe in themselves. She believes reading and writing are foundational in a student’s ability to confidently express one’s self, and as confidence grows so do dreams! Mrs. LaGravinese went on to teach a gifted cluster of students for two years, and that experience showed her the wide range of reading and writing struggles in different settings. It was here that she recognized her first dyslexic students, and trained her teaching team in Ralph Fletcher’s Writing Workshop to meet the diverse needs of their students in a one-on-one approach. The approach produced significant growth in students’ writing and reading abilities, but more importantly their own passions and enjoyment for the language arts flourished.
Rachel’s passion for students’ confidence and success has grown with time and experience, leading her to Reading Pro Learning Center. She has been trained in Handwriting w/o Tears and certified in the Orton-Gillingham influenced Barton Reading and Spelling System, which complements her Reading and Language Arts history. She finds tutoring one-on-one to be an excellent time to get to know her students and teach them in a personal, individualized manner. She says learning is meant to be hands-on, interesting, and unique to each student as a person. Rachel feels it is a privilege to be a part of the Reading Pro team, and she is blessed to work with her students in this caring environment. Her greatest joy is in spending time with her husband Joe, beautiful daughter Annie, and their goofy dog Charlie.
